Loquat Anyone?

For months now I've been watching this tree in our backyard. I could NOT figure out what it was! I searched the Internet, checked out books from the library, asked my mom (who knows everything about plants), but NOTHING. However, I've made a breakthrough. I'm pretty sure what we have is a Loquat tree. What's a Loquat? I'm still not really sure. It looks like this:
So now that I know what it is, what should I do with it? Would anyone (probably only my Sacramento neighbors) be interested in some loquats of their own? We've got plenty to share!
