Once Upon a July

Last month we met up with my family is San Francisco.

Coming from 90-100 degree weather, it was really strange for us to have to remember to bring along a sweatshirt.

One of the best parts of the vacation was getting to see my sweet new niece, Betsy. Isn't she beautiful?
Another one of my favorites was the Exploritorium. That museum is pretty entertaining. There was a drinking fountain shaped like a toilet. It was really hard to drink out of because it just felt wrong. Emmy was pretty brave and willing to take a couple sips, but my nephew, Gabe was disturbed by the whole idea.

My parents rented a house for us to stay in. About 12 steps away from the front door was the light rail stop. The train went by every twenty minutes or so and nine times out of ten Gabe would run to the window it shouting, "A train! A train! A train!" I thought the novelty might wear off by the end of the trip, but it never did.
It was really convenient to have the stop outside our house because we just had to walk out the door and away we went. It was much easier than driving.
Here's a sampling from dorky t-shirt day.

Of course, a Hansen family vacation to northern California is never complete without a trip to the Jelly Belly factory, so that was the last stop on the trip.
