Missionary Apartments

I saw these pictures of Carrie's apartments and it made me laugh. I think it doesn't matter where you are....Brazil, England, Korea, or Nebraska, missionary apartments all look about the same. There are always clothes hanging in odd locations, boxes of who-knows-what, stacks of books, interesting decorating strategies (such as taping every picture from last month's Ensign above your desk), and a refrigerator that was one of the first ever made.

Seriously, who really needs a closet when PVC pipe is just as good?
Isn't it nice to be able to shower and go to the bathroom all at the same time?
If you look closely, I'm sure you'll find an Ensign magazine from 1987, a Family Home Evening manual in Spanish, and about 300 restoration pamphlets.
I'm pretty sure that green thing is a make-shift couch....but then again it could be a discreet place to hide suitcases.

I'm guessing they don't use the oven very often.

Look, she did get our Christmas letters!!

What a meal!

OK, I don't think this picture is her apartment, but it would have been really cool if it was!

  1. I'm so happy she included these!!! I had forgotten about our Christmas letters...it seems like forever ago...and yet she won't even be home THIS Christmas. I think I just figured out what makes it seem so long: she's a on a 2-Christmas mission.
