All my posts are about Kate, Kate, and more Kate. It's time to devote such much needed blog time to next baby.The original due date they gave me based off of dates alone was March 17th. After the ultrasound on the first appointment, they said the baby was measuring a little bit small and it would probably be more like March 23rd. I was a little excited that maybe the baby would come a little late and it would be born on my birthday/anniversary.
About a month ago I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes. It was an early diagnosis based off a blood test. Apparently they have new guidelines to diagnose gestational diabetes and the blood sugar in my test was the absolute minimum to qualify as diabetic. Christian and I have made a bunch of adjustments to our diet, I check my blood every day, and so far I don't need any meds and it's all going smoothly.
A few weeks ago we had an ultrasound. Today at the Dr.'s office they told me that according to the ultrasound, my new due date is March 16th. They also told me that with gestational diabetes they generally induce labor between 39 and 40 weeks. I guess that means we can expect it to come between the 9th and the 16th! It's coming up fast.
The best news of all......only 11 more days and we'll know if Kate's going to have a brother or a sister.

ReplyDeleteAll I can think about reading this is that you get so many more ultrasounds in the states. I'm 15 weeks and won't have one til I'm 20 1/2 weeks. Isn't that funny that we are having kids close together again? I hope all goes well, if you want to aim for someone birthday you could try to hang in for the 17th - if I remember correctly that's Grandma Gold's birthday
