I Love My Kate Girl

This is my cute Kate girl. She is now 3!
On her birthday, I asked her to answer a bunch of questions about herself. I just grabbed a list of questions off the internet, and in retrospect, I wish I would have been a little more creative and come up with my own questions, but whatever. She has plenty of birthdays left to come. This is what she said:
1. What is your favorite color? pink
2. What is your favorite toy? bouncy ball
3. What is your favorite fruit? watermelon
4. What is your favorite tv show? Tangled (we don't actually watch a lot of TV)
5. What is your favorite movie? Cars
6. What is your favorite thing to wear? my cupcake shirt
7. What is your favorite animal? Sea lions
8. What is your favorite song? I am a child of God
9. What is your favorite book? Scared Bear
10. Who is your best friend? Ellie (I guess she still hasn't gotten over the fact that Ellie moved)
11. What is your favorite snack? Fruit Loops
12. What is your favorite drink? water
13. What is your favorite breakfast? Mini-Wheats (there you go Aunt Emmy, a girl after your own heart. She eats them for breakfast almost every day...just like you.)
14. What is your favorite lunch? Animal crackers
15. What is your favorite dinner? Popcorn, Mac and Cheese (I swear we don't usually have popcorn for dinner, but whatever)
16. What is your favorite game? Hide and Seek
17. What is your favorite thing to play outside? Bike
18. What is your favorite holiday?  4th of July
19. What do you sleep with at night? Dinger the Dinosaur (Grandpa got James a dinosaur last Christmas. Ever since we went to the Rockies game and she saw Dinger the Dinosaur, she has commandeered James' dinosaur and made him her own. )
 20. What do you want to be when you grow up? Tangled. Or Daddy.

A few more facts about Kate.
She LOVES here brother. I mean, really loves him.

She is also super enthusiastic. We went to the Stake Fair last week. There was a hula-hoop contest and she won the prize for most animated. Everything Kate does, she does with gusto.

Kate loves to read and is starting to learn to 'read' to herself, which basically means she sits down and tells the story from the pictures.

She is starting to get a really good sense of humor. A couple of times recently she has told actual jokes that she made up herself, and I laughed, not just out of obligation.

Kate is just a really good girl and a great buddy to have.

So now on to Kate's actual birthDAY. In the morning we went to story time. She told me that she wanted to wear he birthday crown, and she did the whole time. As soon as we walked in, everyone noticed and wished her a happy birthday. At the end of story time they all sang to her. She loved it. When we got home she said, "That was so nice that Ms. Eleanor and all my friends sang to me."

After naps, we went downtown to meet up with Daddy. The first thing we did was ride the free bus.

We then went shopping and went out to dinner at Noodles and Company (Kate's favorite restaurant). She got chocolate milk, but only drank a couple of sips. James gladly took over after that.

Then it was back home for cupcakes, presents, and phone calls/facetime with grandparents.
We love you Kate! We're so glad you're 3!!

  2. What fun you guys are having. Sadly Ellie still says things like, "when we go home, I can play with Kate." Still working on that concept.
