Pete the Cat

Do you recognize this little guy? 

 

His name is Pete the cat. He is the star of some of my kids' favorite books. If you didn't already see on Facebook,  then please be impressed with the fact the my kids and I have met the author of Pete the Cat. 

Our library district hosted a 'Meet the Author' night at one of the libraries, and it was amazing. There were lots of songs, lots of dancing, and an all around good time. Here is a little sampling:

The best way to describe how Kate spend the night would be to say that she rocked her little heart out. I have never seen that girl dance so much. As you can see in this video, she danced so much she was falling over. I'm sorry this video is sideways. Just turn your head and enjoy.

I asked Kate what she was going to say when she met him. She told me that she was going to say, "I like Pete the best." When we got there she got a little shy and just stared for a moment. Then she squeaked out, "I have a Pete book." I'm sure he knew what she meant. 

The night ended on a very sweet note, snow cones.

 I don't know why, but I have yet to see any type of snow cone shack in Sacramento or in Denver. When Kate first saw the snow cones, she had no idea what they were. My poor child has suffered so being almost 3-years-old and not knowing a snow cone when she sees one.
