I know we're only two months into 2013, but it's been a pretty wild year so far. We got home from Utah on the first Sunday in January. The next day Christian went to work as usual. At about 11 am he called me letting me know that he was coming home. He had been doing foreclosure reviews, and since the banks settled with the government, the whole nationwide project was shut down and everyone was sent home. Kate was so excited because thought Daddy was coming home just to play with her. That night she prayed, "Thank you that Daddy came home. Bless that he stays home tomorrow, too." It was pretty cute.
There were definitely some good aspects of this project ending. One is that I'm really hoping that Christian can start working in the field he would really like (government). He has applied for IRS and Federal government jobs all over the country. Really, all over the country: Florida, North Carolina, New York, DC, South Dakota, Missouri, California, and the list goes on and on. That's another positive: I love adventure, and we could end up anywhere, or we could stay exactly where we are now. I like the surprise. The only real downside of the job loss is that we didn't move into our new rental house, but lucky for us we got our deposit back.
We have had Christian at home with us for about five weeks which has been really fun. Tomorrow he'll be starting a temporary job that will be a good interlude until he gets something permanent.
So, in other news, my mom is coming to town next week to watch the kids while I get my tonsils taken out. That means that body part score will be as follows: wisdom teeth- Dagny 0, Christian 4. Gall bladders- Dagny 0, Christian 1. Tonsils- Dagny 0, Christian 2. I think I might be loosing. Oh well.
I can't wait to find out if the rest of this year will be as eventful as the beginning was. I guess stay tuned to find out!
good luck with the job hunt! That's crazy! We will be praying for you!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about things. Just be careful to avoid any roll-over vehicle accidents. You can always check for jobs in Yuma! It would be fun to have some family close by now that Emmy will be moving in a few months.
ReplyDeleteThe job hunt thing is rough...we've been there. If Steven's firm hires anyone, I'll let you know, there are some good temp jobs here though. :) FYI, next time you come to UT, we need to get together, ok?
