Our Last Week in Denver

I can't believe we've already lived in Phoenix in for a week. The kids and I are already sporting awesome farmers' tans and I don't know how I ever lived without a full sized washer now that I have the luxury of a wash machine large enough to hold more than a towel! The kids have adjusted well (except for a few emotional outbursts) and are really enjoying discovering new things and places. As I was going through these pictures, they seem like almost a lifetime ago when in reality, it's only been a couple weeks.
So, here it is, what we did for our last week in Denver.

The kids got haircuts from the most awesome stylist in the world, my friend Mary Lynn.

James got to play with his buddy Pearl while Kate got her haircut. He doesn't look bored at all, does he? I hope somehow James and Pearl remember each other. James has giggled every time he has seen Pearl since the day she was born.

Kate swept off the back porch while I cleaned out the back closet.

We went to the zoo for one last merry-go-round ride.

We FINALLY went to one of Christian's basketball games at the church. Kate and James cheered very loud an enthusiastically for both teams and shouted "Go Daddy! Go Daddy!" even when he wasn't on the court.
At their last day of gymnastics, the receptionist, "Miss Ann", said, "Come see me after class, I have something for the kids". I thought maybe it was a certificate or ribbon or something, but it wasn't. She had bought a little present for each of the kids, a Lighting McQueen for James and a Littlest Petshop for Kate. She said, "You're kids are just so sweet and I'm really going to miss you." It was hard to say goodbye to that gymnastics class. It was a really wonderful place!
Our last day at story time was also hard. Ms. Eleanor has been so nice to us and we have really loved seeing her every week. Before we left the library for the last time, I went to go square away my bill (I think I owed $10 in late fees) with the librarian at the desk. I explained to the librarian that I was moving and that I wanted to make sure all by books were in and my fines were paid. She checked my account and then said, "I just cleared it for you. Don't worry about the fines. I hope you have a good move." People are so nice.

Saturday and Sunday we watched conference while packing and packing and packing.

On Sunday the kids helped me make a birthday cake for our good friend, Andrea. It was hard to say goodbye to her, too. Last Sunday was the first week in a long time that the kids had to sit by themselves through Sacrament Meeting without Andrea's magic toy bag.

Denver was a really wonderful place for us. We met people that I will never forget. We enjoyed where we lived and all the fun things to do around the area. I am so grateful for the (almost) two years we spent there.
