Pigs, Chickens, and Goats Oh My!

About a mile away from our place, there's a very interesting house. It's sandwiched between two apartment complexes (four if you count the two on the outside of those two). It's a pretty small house, maybe 2 bedrooms, but it has a very expansive yard. It was recently up for sale. The previous owners had 2 horses. The kids were pretty disappointed when the horses moved. Yesterday when we drove by I realized the new owner had pigs. The kids desperately craned their necks in an attempt to see the pigs, but as they were unsuccessful, I promised them we'd take a walk over there after naps. We had a nice walk and the kids found the pigs enchanting.

After we stood there for about a minute, a wonderful lady name Barb came out to talk to us. She told us the pigs' names (Charlie and Porkchop) and let James feed them the rest of his peanut butter sandwich (which he was thrilled about in the moment, but a little remorseful about on the walk home when he realized he no longer had a peanut butter sandwich). She then let us in the gate and gave us a tour of the rest of her yard, including the chicken coup, peacock pen, garden, and the barn they're getting ready for horses.

My favorite animal was the cute little goat, Norman.

Norman's favorite part of our visit was the stroller.

I had no idea what a fun walk it would turn out to be. The kids talked about it for the rest of the day, and James told me he wants to be Farmer Barb for Halloween.
