Christmas Cookies and Holiday Hearts

Making cookies with kids is a lot messier and stickier than making them alone. I'm pretty sure there was frosting on our ceiling after we were done. That's saying a lot considering we have a 13 or so foot ceiling in the kitchen. The kids helped me measure the ingredients, Kate was in charge of turning on the mixer, Kate rolled the dough, they both used the cookie cutters, and Kate scooped them on and off the cookie sheet with a spatula. When it was time to decorate Kate frosted and James added sprinkles. For some reason James decided he couldn't put on sprinkles while wearing a shirt. This is what our cookie factory looked like:

It probably took me a full hour to clean up just the frosting portion, but it was worth it!
