Ok,so I've been blogging a lot today. Kind of in random order. There are just so many thing that have happened in the last couple weeks and I want to remember these events individually instead of as 'the holidays'.
The day after Thanksgiving we went to get our Christmas tree. We've been debating all year whether we should get a real tree or finally cross over to the fake side. In the end we decided to go with a real tree. I'm glad we did. Part of the magic of Christmas is that wonderful pine smell and until they make a very authentic air freshener, I think I'm going to have to stick with a real tree.
The kids looked high and low to find just the right tree.
Christian confirmed that this was 'the one'.
Kate and James made good guards while Christian went to find someone to help us.
Kate was lucky enough to get to ride with the tree.
Christian put Kate on his shoulders while they cut off the bottom of the tree with a chainsaw and put it in what the kids called a net.
Kate and James were both pretty concerned about what that man was doing to our tree.
Finally we got it home and removed the net.
Kate made sure everything was just right.
James decided to sit in the ornament box to give the ornaments some company.
It really feels like Christmas every morning when the kids rush out to turn on the Christmas lights, put their felt ornament on the advent calendar, and eat a chocolate out of their cardboard calendar.
