It's the Holiday Season, With a Whoop-de-do and Hickory Dock

December is FLYING by. We've done a ton of fun stuff! For a brief day or so we actually had some snow, so we took advantage and went sledding.

We went with a friend and her son. Isn't he crazy adorable in his snow get-up?

We went as a family to pick out a Christmas tree.

James got to put the star on the Christmas tree. It was the first time even though this is his forth Christmas. It's tough being a second child.

We have a tradition of going as a family to let the kids pick out a new ornament each year. This year Kate picked Rudolph.

James picked a Dusty ornament (no surprise there!), but was slightly disappointed he couldn't find one with pontoons.

We braved the mall on Saturday to go see Santa. James decided to wear his Santa hat so that he could trick the big guy into believing that he was really Santa. This kid makes me laugh.

Right before the line reached Santa, it wrapped into this big dome that had faux snow falling down. It's not the best placement because all of the parents were frantically trying to shake the fake snow off their kids before they get their picture taken with Santa. At least the kids loved it!

We let the kids stay up late one night to watch Peter Pan live. They adored it. James had fun being Captain James Hook until he decided that Captain Hook was mean. After that he was James Pan, with a pirate hook.

We made cookies.

And more cookies.

The kids and I stopped by the American Girl Doll store on the way home from a field trip. It felt like a Christmasy thing to do. Both kids fell in love with the store.

James was harder to drag out of the store than Kate. He didn't want to leave the babies behind.

This made me laugh: the guy's bench.

At preschool James got to play with gingerbread play dough as well as make his own ornaments.

And I guess this picture just about sums up Christmas at our house.
James shared his Tom Hackett towel with baby Jesus.
