Cousins!

My whole family (Mom, Dad, sisters, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews) came to Boulder for the weekend. It was such a wonderful weekend!

We started off with a bird birthday party for my niece Betsy and my mom. The kids thought the party hats made good beaks. They also had bird wings--James picked green for the boys and Kate picked blue for the girls.

The kids painted bird houses.

We had a bird birthday cake.
We used the cake for both birthday girls.James helped my mom blow out the candles. There were a lot after all.

Mia was there too, even though she was not very interested in wearing a party hat on her nose.

In the afternoon we took the kids on an outing to smell the tulips and go to the bookstore.

The book store was a big hit!

That night we went to dinner at my great-aunt and great-uncle's house. The kids got to play with my mom's cousin's daughter (their second cousin once removed?). My cousin and his fiance were also there. Denver sure is a gathering place!

On my drive over there, guess what I found. Dagny Way!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I'll have to go back another day and take a picture.

The next day we went on a beautiful hike in the Flatirons. We told James to wear sturdy shoes. He refused and then didn't want to hike because he didn't want to get sand in his shoes. He was also cold. I finally ended up giving him my socks and my mom gave him her sweatshirt, then he was as happy as could be and hiked the whole way without complaints.

These two were attached at the hip the whole time.

The view was spectacular.

After all that hiking, the kids decided they needed ice cream.
Afterward we went to a fun little museum on the campus. We finished off the day with family pictures. I'll share some as soon as I get them!
