This year Kate is going to the same school she went to last year. It's a charter school where she goes one day a week and then we do the rest at home. It is an amazing program and I love everything about it, especially that it is right down the bike trail from our house.
On the morning of the first day of school Kate decided that since she was going to school, it must be fall, and since it was fall, she was going to wear long sleeves.
There was a very sweet good-bye from these two.
Here's Kate's first grade teacher, Mrs. Bodin. Kate adores her and comes home chattering on and on about all the fun things they do. She also has a PE teacher and a Music teacher who are the same as last year.
I don't think school would be the same without Kate's best friend, Lucy. They make a pretty cute pair!
James was thrilled to be able to start school as well this year. He is going to preschool one day a week in the morning. We went to the open house before school started and we ended up staying almost an hour. He loves his school.
Here's the official first day of preschool picture. I got a little emotional (I don't usually!), but I'm going to blame pregnancy hormones.
There were several kids clinging to their moms as they were getting dropped off. James looked at me and said, "Ok bye mom! You can go now."
On the day of the open house the kids had their picture taken for their name tags. I laughed pretty hard when I saw James'.
On his second week of school, James made this hopscotch. He was so proud of it he made me take several pictures of it.
