Here are some of the highlights from April:
My kids got to hold baby chicks. Kate didn't kill this one, even though it looks like it. There was a near-death experience with one getting stuck in the cage door, but we got it out.
We took a walk to the cemetery near our house. It's only about a mile away and it's a beautiful walk! I thought it was interesting that this tree was eating this headstone.
While we were there James found this stick. We told him it was too heavy to carry home. He was very determined and carried it the whole way home.
We got some wonderful visitors!!
And, as is tradition, we had ice cream.
We spent almost every Friday at the park near James' school. Kate spent a lot of the time reading.
One day Eliza pooped out of her outfit an all I had was James' shirt that happened to be in my bag. She didn't mind too much.
My wonderful friend Mindy came to visit.
Together we went to our friend Sara's wedding reception. James wanted to spend the whole time with the bride and was confused why she would want to spend her time talking to anyone but him.
Fortunately cake distracted him. CAKE!
A few days after the wedding reception we were walking along the trail James picked some flower and said, "I'm going to put these in a big book to make them flat and then I'm going to save them for my bride." I said, "Oh Buddy, that's so sweet!" to which he responded, "You won't be there, you'll be dead by then." Oh man.
We went on an awesome field trip to the animal shelter and they taught us how to clicker train animals.
The kids practiced by training each other.
This was Kate's favorite dog.
A few days later we found a pet pig at the park!
James and his buddy went on a boys' outing to the Lego store.
Christian got a new sleeping bag and spent almost the whole night in it!
My friends took Kate and James to the Mint for a field trip and I watched the babies while they were gone. It went well but I decided I could never have triplets!
Finally we went on an awesome field trip to Wings Over the Rockies.
