Sooooo....I'm way behind on blogging. Let's see if I can get caught up in the next couple weeks. Flashback in time to last May:
On James/Mommy day we went to the zoo and paid the extra two dollars to feet the lorikeets. James was so excited when one landed on her arm. He couldn't believe it! Then it wouldn't leave him alone and he got became a little scared. I love the contrast of these two pictures. He did get over it eventually.
I sure love my little buddy!
One day Kate and James thought it would be funny to jump in the same direction at the same time. This was the result. OUCH!
Sometimes James has so many books in his bed that he doesn't have enough room to sleep.
Eliza had her 6 month check up. She is a healthy, happy baby. She also thought the paper was delicious.
Around Mother's Day we always plant a little garden on the porch. Eliza wasn't super impressed.
The last day of first grade for Kate! She is growing up faster than I can believe.
We moved Eliza's crib into the kids' room. She started sleeping so much better (most nights) and they really enjoy each others' company. Someday we'll get another bedroom, but for now they still enjoy being together.
Kate had to say goodbye to her buddy Blake. These two have been friends since they were 1. Their last day together we went to the library and all they wanted to do was read side-by-side.
Kate had been asking for a while about getting her ears pierced. On our Kate/Mommy day I surprised her by taking her to get it done.
James was a little jealous, so I bought him some magnetic earrings. He lost them within the first 10 minutes of having them.
For James' last day of school they had a party. I LOVED this preschool. I hope we still live nearby when it's time for Eliza to go to preschool.
Ms. Joan was THE BEST!! We sure miss seeing her on a regular basis.
On the last day of school there was a giant woodchipper right next to the school. The man who ran it was kind enough to let James and Kate check it out.
We got season tickets for the Rapids. We really enjoyed going to games!
We made a goal to walk 100 miles. It took us about a year and a half to complete it, but when we did we had a 100's party, complete with a cake with 100 candles.
We also celebrated by going on another hike.
Kate was inspired by Ray from Star Wars and requested a hairdo to match.
We finished off the month by sending the boys off to boys camp. We girls hung out at home and had a great time. We went to Cafe Rio with a friend.
Then Kate and I snuggled on the couch and watched Brave.
In the morning Kate had a garage Sale/Lemonade stand. We didn't sell much. Eliza modeled her old rocker.
The boys had a great time at camp.
