Yup, you read that right. 24 more days until baby boy Kelsey makes his big debut. The time has gone by really, really fast.
Because of gestational diabetes, I've been going into Labor and Delivery twice a week to have non-stress tests. The name is very misleading. I have yet to have a nice, calm visit. Somehow there's always something really goofy with my results. Two different times I was having contractions every 3 minutes and they wouldn't let me leave until they were at least 10 minutes apart. Last time the baby's heart rate was fluctuating too much. Today the baby's heart rate wasn't fluctuating enough to get a good reading. It's a little frustrating to have 3 different women (including one with twins) come in, do the same test, and leave in the time it takes them to decide I really am just fine, but Christian always helps me have a good attitude. That guy is such a saint. This whole pregnancy has been a giant reminder why I married him--he's a total champ!
Anyway, as of today, baby is still breech. I keep hearing people say "he still has time to flip", and I'm usually an optimist about these kind of things, but I've decided this time to go with less optimistic outcome and start to plan for a c-section. I figure that way if he flips, BONUS! If not, I'm prepared mentally.
Kate's also preparing mentally for baby to come. When I ask her, "Kate, are you a baby?" She shakes her head and says, "noooooo." Then I ask, "Kate, are you a big girl?" and in her sweet soft voice she says, "Yea!" and gives a giant head bob.
Good luck! We'll be thinking of you and praying for you.
ReplyDelete24 days until you have a family of 4! Wow, good luck! Hope you get a bonus delivery!!!
ReplyDeletehmmm. I would say preparing for a c-section is a good idea. Plan for the worst hope for the better. Most everything about Afton's delivery was not as I had planned for. I was talking to one of the NICU nurses after the fact and long story short birth plans are a jinx!
ReplyDeleteAh, Dagny. We haven't talked for for too long! I love you!
