One Thing At a Time

I'm going to try to do a little catch-up one thing at a time. First of all, I am feeling so much better!!! I can eat again and it doesn't hurt, and oh boy have I been taking advantage of that. I think I've gained around 8 pounds since getting out of the hospital less than two weeks ago. I can hold and play with my kids and my incisions don't hurt any more. Life is good!

This is just a side note, but something really weird happened. On my last post two of the comments randomly disappeared. Has that ever happened to anyone before? Moving on.....

Remember Easter? I didn't get around to posting about it because I was feeling so sick (with "heartburn"......that was really my gall bladder), but we had a really good time. Christian's dad, brother, and sister came to visit. They showered Kate and James with presents and then played and played and played with them. Kate loved running around with Michael and Kayla. Kate thinks it's great to have two people giving you complete undivided attention!Saturday night we dyed eggs. Kate was fascinated by cracking them open and then dumping them in the dye.

Soon after Easter, my parents and sister Carrie came to visit for James' blessing..........which ended up not happening. The plan was to have them stay after the blessing while Christian drove to Denver to find a place for us to live (have I mentioned we're moving to Denver? I don't think I have, I'll have to post about that later). Instead of plan A, we went with plan B, them staying with Christian while I went to the hospital. We did have one fun day before everything happened. We went to Fairy Tale Town and flew a Kite in the park.
Kate with Grandpa and James with Grandma.SistersOn Mother's Day, Christian picked me up from the hospital with flowers and cards (one from him, one from the kids). When I got home there were more flowers from Christian's aunts and grandma. It made me feel very loved!

Less than a week after I got home, Christian graduated! His mom, grandma, and sister Cassie came to be a part of it all.
We were all very proud of Christian for graduating from Law School. Every time there was clapping during the ceremony Kate would clap and yell, "Yeah! Daddy!!" Even after she started to get tired and cry, she still, in a very sad voice, say, "Yeah, Daddy."
Here I am with my friend Sydney. Her husband also graduated the same day. We both got a 'supportive wife' diploma. The kids also got diplomas.
Charlie has been one of Kate's best friends since birth. Every Sunday they hold hands and walk to nursery together. Here they are giving each other a congratulatory hug.
In the middle of all this, James turned 2 months old. Here he is in his newborn outfit. I couldn't get the little onsie over his head, but I can still squeeze the jacket and pants on. That hand belongs to Kate. She's trying to put his pacifier back in. She's such a good big sister!

So after all the excitement, we decided to run away for a few days and get to know each other as a family again. We decided to have one last Disney hurrah while we're still living in California.
Kate loved Mickey and Minnie. She pointed the out all over the park. We did hit some rain, but it made it extra fun because there were no lines. Christian rigged up some poncho magic and Kate loved peaking out of her porthole.
While there we met up with my Sister Emmy, her husband, and her two kids (Kate's only cousins). So, that means we've almost seen all our family in the last month and a half (we've only missed one brother)! Not bad for living hours and hours away from all of them.

There you have it......a pretty crazy couple of months. And it's not over yet. We still have to move in June, Christian has to take the Bar in July, and then he starts school again at the beginning of September (he'll be getting and LLM in Tax from the University of Denver). Wish us luck!

  3. That's awesome that you got a diploma too! I know you earned it! More school, huh? What kind of law does he want to practice then? Good luck and glad you are feeling better.
