The moment we arrived James started to clap his hands and shriek. As soon as he was out of the stroller, he dove into a large patch and started blowing, throwing, and eating dandelion seeds.
Kate was much more dainty about it, as she is with most things. She picked a few, blew the seeds off of several, and then started making bouquets. I made her a crown to wear and she thanked me over and over.
Then we discovered the butterflies. There saw probably over 50 butterflies flying form flower to flower. Kate had a great time chasing butterflies while James continued pick dandelions. We also saw several ladybugs (James tried to eat one, but it flew away just in time) and a couple of bees. I was so fascinated watching the bees because I could see the pollen on their legs. I tried to get a good picture, but phones cameras can really only do so much.
Finally we had a delicious strawberry picnic and called it a morning.
Dandelions are the greatest! By the way, I need 4 larger sizes of the shirt that James is wearing.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Brett and I were just laughing this evening on our walk--"stop and smell the flowers" in our family also means exploring the dandelions! Good luck with the job hunt!
