We were at a friend's house the other day and my friend asked Kate if she would like to go in the backyard and pick a purple flower. Of course, Kate got all excited and they went to the backyard hand in hand. I few minutes later they came back and my friend was laughing pretty hard. She said, "When I showed Kate the flower she said, 'I saw this at the Botanic Gardens yesterday.'" She was laughing because it had been such a mouthful for a two-and-a-half year old. The best part was that we had seen the same kind of big purple flower at the botanic gardens just the day before and she actually remembered it!

Our favorite part of the Gardens is the faux stream set up just for the kids to splash around. I finally got wise and started bringing swimming suits. I didn't mean to cut off James' face in this picture. Oh well.
