As Smart As My Dad

So, Mother's Day was more than a week ago, but I just ran across these picture I took on my phone and I wanted to share.

The Young Women in our ward had a babysitting night so that the parents could go on a date. While Kate was there, she helped fill this out. My favorite part is where it says I'm as smart a Christian. I mean, that man is an attorney, so I guess that says a lot about me!

At church on Mother's Day, each woman was given a carnation. About twenty seconds after I got mine, James broke my flower in half, which sent Kate into a flood of tears. I promised her that we would tape it when we got home, which we did, upside-down. It was a pretty sad looking flower by the end of the day, but it looked like the perfect flower for a mom of two toddlers.

The showering of love didn't end there. I got a membership to Barnes and Noble from Christian (he knows we spend a lot of time/money there), cards and cash from relatives, and, my favorite, a gift card to Noodles and Company from my father-in-law so that Kate could take me out to dinner.

It always great being a mom, but the extra love once a year makes it especially worth while.
