Ring My Bell

I know I've mentioned it before (and most of you already know anyway) that Christian and I first met in a bell choir. I had a couple friends who were in a Methodist bell choir, The Wesley Bell Ringers, and they asked if I wanted join. They assured me it was ok that I wasn't Methodist, and I signed up. Christian had already been in the choir for several years and after a couple of months we started spending all of our time together. You know the rest of the story: we fell in love, got married, and had some really cute kids.

ANYWAY, now Christian's sister is in the bell choir. Every year The Wesley Bell Ringers go on a tour around different parts of the US and play in different churches. This year, they kicked off their tour in Colorado, so we went to go see their very first concert. This is the first time in a long time that I've heard them play, and I was so impressed! It was really fun to watch. James and Kate did surprisingly well and kept talking about it for days after the concert. Even now when you ask James what a bell says he says, "ling-a-ling-a-ling".

Here's a picture of the Choir. Cassie (Christian's sister) is in the very back row on the right hand side, and it this picture her head is partially covered. What can I say, I'm not the best photographer. Guess what....the first time I went on Tour with the bell choir, we played at this same church. Guess what else...they played one of the same songs that we played, "It's A Small World". In the song, each kid puts on a hat from a different country and they were the same hats that we wore 10 year ago.  Cassie wore the same hat I wore! She told me that it still has my name in it. Oh, the memories!

If you're still confused as to what a bell choir actually sounds like, never fear, here is some video:

Even though it was way past the kids bedtime when the concert ended and we still had an hour drive back to Denver, the kids were so excited to have Cassie with us that they stay up and chatted with her the whole way home. Once home, Kate demanded that only Cassie could read her a bedtime story.

James didn't want to miss out on the bed-time-story-action either.
Both kids had so much fun seeing Cassie and I really enjoyed the walk down memory lane.
