Good Old Friends

I'm in Utah right now, and I am having the most laid back Utah trip I've had since we got married and moved away to California. Because this trip is significantly longer than the others, I've actually had some time to catch up with friends.

On Sunday we got to see my cousin's kids (well, 2 of their 4). They live in Yuma, AZ, but we randomly overlapped Utah trips. Lucky for us! James and Dallin enjoyed some 'boy time'.

Kate and Erin had some 'girl time'. Kate was glued to Erin's side all night. Erin was extremely nice to play along with Kate. At the end of the night Kate burst into tears and said, "I don't want Erin to go! She's my favorite person in the whole world!"

On Monday we went to the zoo with my friend Molly that I've known since preschool. The zoo looks much different than when we were kids, but we were able to locate the Lion drinking fountain, so it was a pretty successful trip.

Kate quickly latched onto Molly and probably would have been happy going home with Molly instead of me that day.

On Tuesday we headed off to the park to play with my friend April and her three kids. Unfortunately I never got a picture with all five kids. This is as close as I got.

April and her husband share a car, so during the week she and the kids ride around on her bike. Isn't that awesome?!?

This morning I got to see my friend Kim from my mission. We had a great time reminiscing about Brazil and swapping ideas of what books to read next and what shows to watch on Netflix. She gave me some pretty good recommendations. We even sort of coordinated our outfits for the day!

Tonight I got to see 4 friends from my teaching program along with their spouses and kids. These are 4 very wonderful ladies and it was great to catch up! Unfortunately, I forgot to snap a picture until after Dana had already left, but here I am with April, Sheila, and Amy (and Amy's husband in the background). I'm planning on seeing Dana next week, so I'll have to get a picture with her then.

James enjoyed his time at our get-together, mostly because of this big hole he found in the back yard. It was hard to convince him to leave.

As I'm reconnecting with all these friends, I realized, I know some pretty awesome people. Stay tuned because I've got more play dates planned for the next few days.
