Reunited

A month or so after we moved to Sacramento, we met another 'law school couple' that had moved in a few of blocks away. We were in the same ward and the first Sunday they were there, this sweet blonde gal sat next to me. We started to chat and I knew right away I had found a friend. Matt and Christian went through all three years of law school together while Sydney and I were law school wives, keeping each other company when our husbands studied late, having dinner swaps, and going on double dates when our husbands were free. We both got pregnant about the same time and had babies two months apart. The first baby Kate ever met was Charlie (and although only 2 months older, he was about twice the size). They had many (probably weekly) play dates together. They shared slobber, toys, and even clothes once when Charlie jumped into the bathtub while Kate was taking a bath. If you're a long time fan of the Kelsey blog, you'll have seen them featured several times, up until 2 years ago when we moved to Denver. I've missed the Taylors a lot and although we've kept in contact via phone, imagine my excitement when we figured out that we were going to be in Utah at the same time. Today Kate was reunited with her first ever friend, and it was a very sweet reunion.

Charlie is still much taller than Kate.

Looking at their moms really explains the height difference.

They came up with several games and played happily for hours.

Charlie did have to take a quick break after he fell off the swing, but after a snuggle with his mom, he felt much better.

James was pretty happy Matt was there to throw him in the air. I know this picture is blurry, but if you look close you can see the smile on James' face.

Before they left Charlie and Kate gave each other big hugs and said, "I'll miss you" to each other, unprompted by any patent.

Somehow, sadly enough, this is the only picture I got of Aberdeen, the Taylors' sweet, adorable baby girl.

Let's hope it doesn't take another 2 years to see the wonderful folks again.
