Other Fun Things We Did Last Month

It feels like time is on fast forward right now. It's so crazy to think that we've now lived back in Denver as long as we lived in Phoenix. It especially feels like August went by really fast. Here are a few snapshots of some of the fun we've had.

Each year our Stake has a big fair in the parking lot of the Stake Center. They have lots and lots of food, games, and lots of bouncy fun. James took about six laps on this inflatable obstacle course. I was amazed he climbed up on the six food ladder all by himself. James was excited to run into his buddy Richard from church and made him hold hands the whole time they waited in line. Richard is a very patient 7 year old.

I thought that we had visited all the parks within a 15 minute radius of our house, but I was wrong. I found another one!

We went to a fun music class in the park.

James has become obsessed with outer space. Since we've been back to Denver, we have been to three different planetarium shows and surprisingly the kids have excitedly sat through all three (and asked for more). Once James found this corner of the museum, it was hard to pry him out.

The kids have been very good about helping me clean lately. They especially like to help me clean the mirrors because I let them stand on the bathroom counter.

We've had some fun play-dates. One day we played with water balloons in the park.

Another day we had a paint date in the garage.
Grandpa Kelsey and Aunt Kayla flew in for the day to treat the birthday girl to a special day of lunch and shopping. It was so much fun.

James and I went out one a mommy/son date while Christian and Kate went on a daddy/daughter date. I asked James where he wanted to go, and he requested a restaurant called the Bent Fork. We had a very good time, but for some reason he was afraid of this coloring page they gave him, and he quickly asked the waitress to bring him a different one.

The kids went tandem skydiving.

We went to Utes Alumni night at the Rockies. It was a fun baseball game.
Before the game, the kids got all dressed up.

James was slightly confused at the game. We kept telling him to say, "Go Rockies!" but he would only say, "Go Utes!" He refused to say anything else. He also kept shouting to the pitcher, "Throw it to me! Why won't you throw it to me?"

Finally, one last piece of Arizona. Kate picked up a couple Palo Verde tree seeds at the library in Phoenix. We took them with us to Salt Lake where we planted them in a pot. Only one sprout made it and we carefully took with us to Denver. Kate lovingly waters it every day, and it's still growing.
