Loving Emergencies

My kids conveniently have been obsessed with similar things lately: babies, Finding Nemo, trains, rocket ships, outer space, and emergency vehicles. They are constantly on the look out for fire engines, ambulances, and police cars, especially if they have lights and sirens going. To indulge this fascination, we had some fun outings lately. Three weeks ago we went to an event called 'Touch-a-Truck'. As we were walking up, James' eyes grew as big as saucers and he shouted, "I see a fire engine!!!" Both kids were thrilled with all of the different trucks they got to see.

Kate's favorite truck was the fire engine.

Hopefully this will be the only time James will ride in the back of an ambulance.

We had a hard time pulling James away from this tractor.

Good thing he couldn't turn it on, because he would have squashed his sister.

Last week, to stick with the theme, we went to a pancake breakfast at the fire station.

The kids were so excited to see the fire pole. The firefighters explained that they don't actually slide down the pole, they just go down the stairs, but I'm not sure James believed them.

James quickly found the hoses. He kept looking for 'the bell', and was very disappointing to find that they have a P.A. system that plays different tones based off which area they are going instead of a bell.

The pancakes were good and I was amazed at how much the kids ate.

On a different note, I downloaded an app on my phone that can change hairstyles. What do you think? Should I get bangs?
