James requested a Thomas costume for Halloween. He had very specific elements that he wanted included; a 'puffer with smoke coming out', 'a number 1', 'wheels on my feet' and 'Annie and Clarabelle hanging down my back'.
I bought a $4 sweatshirt and and some felt, and this is how it turned out.
Kate helped me create it while James slept.
James was beside himself when he woke up. I think it was exactly what he wanted.
The hard part was getting him to take it off.
Since this picture, I have added a couple of things. I bought some blue pants and painted wheels and tracks on the legs. I also laminated a picture of Annie and Clarabelle to hang on his back. Overall, I'm pretty proud of what I created. Stay tuned to see Kate's costume. Her costume has taken a little more work, but I'm really pleased with the outcome!
You're amazing. The only way my kids are going to have home made costumes, is if my mother in law makes them.
