Farm Trip

I think I've talked about our play group quite a bit lately, but it just so fun! We've got a wonderful group of ladies with some really great kids. Recently we went to the Littleton Museum, a museum that has several displays inside and a farm outside with several historical buildings.

The kids were enamored with the animals.

For some reason I couldn't get James to climb out of the stroller for the first ten minutes. He just sat sullen in his spot and refused to come out. I was really confused by this until I looked down and saw blood smeared all over the stroller. I asked James where it came from, but he didn't answer. Then he shying held up his thumb, which was covered in blood. He refused to let me wipe it off and declined the offer of a band-aid. I asked him what happened, but he just shook his head. I still have no idea what happened! However, after a few minutes, he forgot all about his injury and decided to join the other kids.

James and Kate found a water pump.

Magically, within seconds, all the kids joined them at the pump. I guess nothing entices kids like the potential to get wet!

I think the animal that was the biggest hit was a barn cat that was hanging around this dugout. The kids stared at it for a couple of minutes.

There was a second injury while the kids were looking at the chickens. A little boy named Graham got too close and was pecked. It may have given Kate a life-long fear of chickens.

I tried to get a picture of all the kids on the hay bales. I only got 2/3 of the kids, and most of them were looking the other direction. Oh well.

After the museum we went to the park to play and have lunch. James was thrilled when he found a soccer goal. He was less thrilled when he got tangled up in the goal.

This was my favorite picture from our outing. It's hard to see, but there are 4 kids in these 2 swings.
