Let me introduce you to the worst secret keeper in the world: my son.
A week before Kate's birthday James and I went to Toys R Us to pick out a present for her. He picked out a clear ball that was filled with blue glitter. As we were driving home I reminded him that it was a present and that we weren't going to tell Kate about it until her birthday. We came inside and James headed upstairs. I stopped to switch the laundry or something like that. When I came up the stairs Kate was crying. I was so confused. "What happened??" I asked. A tearful Kate said, "James said he bought be a blue sparkle ball for my birthday but that he's not going to give it to me!" So much for that surprise.
A couple weeks ago the kids and I went to the craft store to buy some yarn so that I could make mittens for my sister for Christmas. Kate picked out special blue sparkly yarn (her favorite color). Every step of the way from the cuff to the thumb hole, the kids have tried on the mittens, "helping" me make them. Today we facetimed my sister on my phone. The FIRST thing James says to her is, "Carrie, we made you mittens!!!!!" He then ran to get them to show her.
This little boy sure is lucky he's cute!!
I'll still be surprised.
ReplyDeleteI love reading James stories, they crack me up.
