I haven't really been looking forward to snow, but the kids sure have! This morning when they woke up I told them there was a surprise for them outside. They bounded out of bed and rushed to the window. They were so excited to see the big fat flakes falling that they started jumping up and down and shouting. They watched the snow falling for about ten minutes, totally mesmerized. They were glued to the window again when Christian went out to scrape his car. James found it especially funny that Christian's car was white. Later James insisted on checking out a different window because he was unsure if it had snowed on the front porch as well as the back porch.
After a while, I bundled up the kids to go play outside. I dressed them in the usual: coat, snow pants, sweatshirt, boots, mittens, a hat, the works. We got outside and James immediately started to complain he was cold. I grabbed Kate's other coat, a pink pea coat, and put it over his over coat. He said he was still cold so I grabbed a scarf and wrapped it around him. He complained he was still cold, so I grabbed Christian's sweatshirt and wrapped it around his legs. Once he looked like a little homeless child, he was finally satisfied. All he wanted to do, however, was sit in the stroller and watch Kate play in the snow. He also insisted we go on a walk to see how much snow there was. Kate had a much different reaction to the snow. She leaped straight in it. She made snow balls, snow angels, and lots of footprints. She got a shovel and shoveled lots of snow onto the already shoveled walk way. She kept playing, happy as could be, until her fingers turned into ice cubes.
Once we were all chilled to the bone (although I don't know how it was possible with all James' layers), we headed in and made hot chocolate.
I decided the snow isn't so bad after all since I have two great kids to share it with.
Isnt this the same boy who complained it was too hot? A male Goldilocks perhaps? You need to find his just right state, and move there. Hey, i hear good things about TN :-D
