It has been a BEAUTIFUL November. I felt kind of ripped off missing out on the beautiful Arizona fall/winter, and apparently Denver wanted to make me feel better because it has been really nice with lots of warm days. Last Thursday my friend took the kids and me on a beautiful hike. Can you see the cars in the background? James made it all the way to this point before he refused to hike any more. He spent most of the next two miles riding on my shoulders.
Or sitting down refusing to walk. His excuse was, "I don't want to get sweaty!"
He became much more animated once he found a big rock we could climb.
It was the perfect place to stop and have a snack.
Karlee was kind enough to share her sunglasses with James. She was even kind enough not to mind too much when he slimed them with pears.
Check out the view!
I was able to capture one of the rare moments when James was actually hiking.
Kate was a good hiker and made it almost the full two miles and only asked for a piggy back ride for the last 5 minutes. After the hike I asked the kids what their favorite part was. James said, "Making rock cakes" and Kate said, "The shoe cleaner by the bathroom" (there was a little shoe scraper/brush thing).
