Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Thanks to Washington and Lincoln and all those other wonderful Presidents, Christian got the day off a couple of weeks ago. We decided to drive about an hour to go to Colorado Springs to go to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, one of the coolest zoos ever. It's built on the side of the mountain, so it is quite a walk (especially with a double stroller with a flat tire) so it's like we got to go hiking as well as go to the zoo.

The first thing we did was ride the ski-lift up to the top of the zoo. It was such a beautiful view! It was fun dangling our toes above mountain goats and bears.

James really liked this rock climbing wall. He didn't get very far, though.

My FAVORITE part was feeding the giraffes. They were so gentle! And their tongues were sooooooo long!

Turns out Kate is allergic to giraffes. Right after she fed one she rubbed her eyes. I looked down and her eyes were super swollen and red. Fortunately once we washed them off, she was ok.

I also loved that there were a whole bunch of playgrounds dispersed throughout the zoo. There was something different around every corner.

If you're ever in Colorado Springs, I highly recommend making a stop here! Oh, and if your Emmy, I recommend you move to Colorado Springs. Or Denver. Whichever.
