For April Fool's Day the kids picked out their own silly outfits. They did a pretty good job!
We spent the afternoon in the book section of target. The kids played a trick on me that we ended up staying there for an hour and a half!
While they were sleeping the night before April Fool's Day, Christian and I switched the kids and put James in the top bunk and Kate on the bottom. They thought it was so funny when they woke up! All day they wanted to play a joke on Christian. So we cut out some brown paper letter E's and put them in a pan with tin foil on the top. When Christian got home the kids said, "DAD! WE MADE YOU BROWNIES!!" Christian was so excited. He went and got a cold glass of milk all ready. He was pretty devastated when he lifted the tin foil. He was so sad I felt guilty and made him some really brownies after the kids went to bed.
The next day Cassie and Grandma came to visit! The kids were so happy!!!
We had so much fun. Our first stop was to the aquarium. Unfortunately it was spring break so it was really busy, but the kids didn't mind!
We also went to see Cinderella which was an ADORABLE movie!
Later Christian and I went on a belated anniversary date while the kids got to have a sleepover with Grandma and Cassie.
After our belated anniversary, I had a belated birthday. We took a trip the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. It is one of my favorite places.
We didn't do too much for Easter. It had been a busy week after all. We at least dyed Easter eggs. James was so proud of his egg.
When James figured out Christian was planning on eating the eggs, he was devastated.
We studied bug for a couple of weeks, so we decided to make a trip to the butterfly pavilion. We paid the extra dollar to get the butterfly identification guide. The kids couldn't believe it when a butterfly landed right next to its picture.
All three of us were brave enough to hold Rosie the tarantula.
