How Henry Became Part of our Family

Who knew that sending Christian and James off to the father/son campout would make my kids miss each other so much?!? As Christian was packing up the car, the two couldn't get enough of telling each other how much they were going to be missed. I'm pretty sure there may have been a tear or two.

Kate and I had a Mommy/Daughter campout, which basically meant she slept on the floor in a sleeping bag and I slept on the couch. It was probably not as exciting, but at least we didn't get snowed on like the boys did. In the morning our complex had a garage sale, so Kate and I set up a lemonade stand.

Thanks mostly to the large donations of some friends, Kate made enough money to reach her goal, enough money for a beta fish.

When James got home from the camping trip, he saw all the money and immediately started to throw it all over himself.

In the evening after everyone took a nap (turns out lemonade stands and camping can really take it out of you), we took a trip to the pet store. Kate spent a looooong time picking out just the right fish.

Kate named him Henry and he has been a wonderful addition to our home. I'm just glad he hasn't died yet! A month and a half is probably a record lifespan for a fish in the Kelsey household.
