A World With Octobers

L. M. Montgomery wrote in Anne of Green Gables, "I'm so glad I live in a world with Octobers." How true is that? It's one of my favorite months! I love fall and I love Halloween.

For the fifth year in a row we went to the corn maze at the Botanic Gardens.
This picture of Kate looks like such a glamour shot, but really she was trying to get the hay out of her shoe.

We took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL 70 degree weather we had on a regular basis with bike rides and fall walks.

We carved pumpkins.

They turned out really cute!

The kids spent hours and hours playing in the leaves.

The kids dressed up for gymnastics and school.

We had a Halloween party at a friend's house.

Bowling for ghosts was a big success.

But the highlight of the day was letting the kids do their own facepaint.

James' school had a Halloween party that Kate and I were invited to. They did a performance with Halloween songs.

James' teacher gave him these teeth. He loved them! But they made him drool like crazy.

James loves all the spooky Halloween stuff, but it also terrifies him.

On Halloween day the kids and I went to Boo at the Zoo.

When James decided to be Sully for Halloween, he told me he wanted 'Sissy' to be Mike. I did the best I could.

In the afternoon we went to our ward's Halloween Village and then at night we went trick-or-treating. We were out less than an hour, but because we don't get very many trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood, everyone unloaded handfuls of candy to the kids. I think we'll have enough candy to last until next Halloween.

The kids were determined to organize all the candy before they went to bed. They sorted it an lined it all up. It went all they was across the living room.

Each day the kids helped me come up with a costume for our little calendar guys. They ended up really cute!
