Pirate Parrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrty

About a week ago, James changed his mind from wanting a Polar Express party to wanting a pirate party. It  definitely made more sense, considering the fact that his birthday is in March. Fortunately, the only party preparation I had made up until that point was pinning things on Pinterest, so it was an easy switch.

The day before the party, James and Kate painted their own pirate shirts to wear to the party. I think they turned out really cute.

We had a pretty low-key party. We had a couple of games (throw the bean bag to the island (hula hoop), glue feathers on a parrot, and a treasure chest pinata), but mostly the kids just played and the moms talked. James was pretty excited about the fruit snacks in the pinata.

James was also pretty excited about the cupcakes. He had a hard time waiting until the end of the song to blow out his candles.

The cupcakes were a pretty big hit.

My friend Debbie brought doughnuts to share the the grown-ups. They were a pretty big hit with the adults.
