Inside Out

For about six months Kate told me that she wanted to have a Magic Tree House birthday party. I started brainstorming and Pinteresting like crazy. She's been so obsessed with Magic Tree House I thought there was no way that theme would change. Well, about a month before her birthday she told me she wanted to have an Inside Out party instead. She's lucky I'm flexible.

She helped me make these invitations and I think they turned out really cute!!

I had a lot of fun decorating. The dots are supposed to be memories (if you've seen the movie it makes sense).

The kids arrived and decorated prize bags.

Then they made memory necklaces.

When it was time for a snack the kids all wanted to eat in the kitchen for some reason. It was kind of a tight squeeze.

All the kids got a pair of sadness glasses.

We played a ton of games like pin the memory on Rylee, musical memories, If you're ___and you know it, and the very favorite, obstacle course. They climbed up and down the train of thought tracks, crawled through the land of imagination, jumped into the memory dump, and the reversed and went the other way.

I put confetti in the pinata and it looked awesome when it all came raining down. Don't worry, there was also candy inside.

I used a lot of food coloring in the frosting to get it bright enough.

Kate has some wonderful friends and it was a really fun party! I'm so lucky to have this sweet little 6-year-old in my life!
